In Case of
Emergency
(you are now on a page in Dr. Shaw's personal
website)
In about 2004, I asked our hospital to allow
citizens to keep a file of personal health & emergency contact info within the hospital's
electronic records...I named it "My e-EMR". But, the rightful fears of info theft and bogus
info killed the idea. Then Medem came out with their free on-line iHealthRecord (went out of business).
Subsequently, our county, Lexington, S. C. came out with "My 911" which citizens could use to
file info in case of calls to 911 & need of emergency services. I have since made some
suggestions at the "Wikihow" website. Never-the-less, I feel (July 2015) most comfortable carrying a typed summary of my data in my wallet along with emergency contact info. We still have a long way to go in replacing on-person paper and memory!
