The Truth... What is it?

Another Special Life in Christ

These testimony lives are not stories of "role models". Jesus is the role model!
These are lives wonderfully touched & changed by Jesus!

Walter:

When the ambulance arrived, the EMTs made the decision not to take Walter to the nearest hospital, but rather transported him across town to a hospital better known for treating head injuries. The ER physicians told the family Walter more than likely would have died had he not been brought there and had he gotten there 15 minutes later, he surely would have died. From the hospital lobby phone, his wife put out calls to friends and relatives: "Call every believer you know and activate prayer...Walter fell and is critically injured." The next day, our lab's computer-systems specialist knocked on my office door and came in. Standing firmly in front of my desk and looking me square in the eye, Kathy said, "Dr. Shaw, you once told me that you'd prayed for a number of people and the results had been great (I learned in the 1990s to be involved in prayer ministry as a member of Northside Baptist Church). I'm asking you to pray for my sister-in-law's brother-in-law." "Kathy, what happened?" "And would you notify your church's prayer room?" "Yes, I sure will!" "And who else do you know that I can ask to pray?" Well, the prayers went out big-time! Kathy Straw (deceased, 2010) and I recently (3/00) estimated that prayers went up for weeks from all over the USA. The accident happened in November 1998. Dr. Walter Johantgen was in a coma until well into January '99. At this date, he has not been able to return to practice the physician specialty of anesthesiology because his mental acuity is slightly slowed...but not to the point that ordinary people would be able to tell. The eye that was a dead-certain predicted loss is fine. The man the experts were sure would die is back to normal.

If you could believe that God would respond with a miracle to prayer appeals, would you go to others and solicit their prayers for one you cared about? See other faith & health information [here].

As we have heard so much in 2005 about Terri Schiavo, there are those who have come out of 12 years of coma and recovered (example, Peter Cornelis...see miracles link that follows). [see Coma Recovery website; & a case; & a case; and these miracles].

Indianapolis 500 and a smashed face: He worked in a city where they were accustomed to seeing seriously damaged race-car drivers survive to drive another day. Yet, when Walter rolled into the ER that day, no one gave him any significant chance for survival. An anesthesiologist, he was outside stringing Christmas lights on his house. His teenage son, who was inside with a friend, suddenly said, "I have to go check on my dad." To his horror, he found him nearly lifeless on the cement walkway: he'd fallen off of a high ladder and hit face-and-eye-first on a raised cement border.
