WORKS

"Works" is a term loaded with theological debate and centuries worth of division amongst the various earthly Christian churches. "Works" tends to mean doing things for others as a Christian and in a selfless way and with an attitude unlikely to have been done prior to a person coming to belief in Christ Jesus. "Works" as a condition to justify eternal salvation, however, IS NOT what I am talking about.

In the two commands of Jesus to sum up all of the Old Testament (the Law & the Prophets), Jesus told us that it all amounts to (1) love God and (2) love your neighbor (Matthew 22:37-40). What is love?

Love, as to human-to-human relationships amounts to loving (serving) your neighbor (John). Who is your neighbor?
